Absolutely. Dogs have as much love for humans and animals as they do in relation to their own kind. The generosity with which they show their care, concern and and passion for those they feel attached to shames us humans who are often so very mean and selfish in our personal relationships. I tend to agree with Madam Roland, a celebrity Frenchwoman who lived during the French Revolution at the end of the eighteenth century : “ The more l see of men, the more l like dogs” :

I told my 13-year-old daughter that she should never start a fight, but has my permission to end it. She got suspended for ending a fight that some other girl picked with her by hitting her then retreating. How do I handle the school’s response?
